A quick note to let you know the Market is coming out of hibernation. We expect to have our online vendor application ready within about two weeks. We will also be starting to organize our music for the summer shortly. Interested? Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Come and out and party for the final market of the 2018 season with Chick Wagon! It’s not too late to pick up fresh Vancouver Island cranberries from Yellow Point Cranberries for your holiday feast, as well as fresh corn, squash and other local veg. On rain (RCMP Barn) or shine (market field).
A reminder the Market is open, rain or shine! If the weather is nasty, look for us in the RCMP Barn on the left as you enter the Fairground. And after all, what’s a little rain between Wet Coast friends? Come on out and support our vendors! Music this week by Brad Prevedoros.
Bill Johnson returns to the market stage on September 15. This weekend is the first market we can move into the RCMP Barn (big barn just west of the Main Hall) if it’s raining so you can shop in comfort! Remember the market continues until Thanksgiving weekend (October 6) rain or shine.
A reminder that the market is back on the field tomorrow, September 8, rain or shine. Weather doesn’t look too bad for the market hours. The market continues until Thanksgiving (October 6).
A reminder that there is no market this coming weekend (September 1) as we make way for the Saanich Fair. The market resumes on Saturday, September 8 and continues until Thanksgiving (October 6). But hey, you can still have fun at the Fair! Market music in the West Ring with Jeff Stevenson, Dave Harris, Jukebox Junkies and Chris Newman/ Blake Candy.
Dave Harris One Man Band entertains on the last Saturday of August before the Saanich Fair. We take a break for the Saanich Fair over Labour Day weekend then return for our fall series of markets beginning on Saturday, September 8 and continuing through until Thanksgiving (October 6). You don’t have to miss any market music over the Saanich Fair weekend however! The market stage will be setup in the hunter jumper field in the northwest corner of the Fairground, part of a covered picnic area (just like our setup at the market). Market musicians Jeff Stevenson, Jukebox Junkies, Dave Harris One Man Band and Chris Newman and Blake Candy will be on stage.
The Saanichton Village Association is partnering with the Peninsula Country Market to present the 8th Annual Central Saanich Family Festival at the market this coming Saturday. Lots of fun for families. Come out and celebrate our community with games, inflatables from GAMES2U and Panorama Recreation and more! Music by Trio Raices (www.facebook.com/Guitarra Chilena). Trío Raíces began in Victoria in 2017 with a desire to promote and share music and culture from Latin America. This dynamic trio spans diverse regions of the Americas, from the Andes to the valleys, and from the Pacific to the Atlantic, exploring the diverse Latin American folkloric traditions. We hope to see you there! For more information visit www.saanichtonvillage.ca
We had another great sunny market day on Saturday. Looking forward to seeing Captain Pete back on the field next Saturday (August 4) and hopefully a sheep show! Take a trip down memory lane with the Jukebox Junkies on stage.
