We’re expecting fresh-picked blueberries and raspberries at the market this Saturday, as well as our first visit from Silver Rill Berry Farm (cherries, black currant concentrate and more). Looking forward to a fascinating day at the market! We’re trying something new today – Yoga with Liv on the grass in front of the stage for adults from 9:15 to 10:00 and kids from about 11:00am to 11:30. “These classes are free and no experience is necessary, just bring a mat and a smile!” All the usual good things including fresh juicy local strawberries and lots of yummy baking (breads, pies, strudels, sticky buns, muffins and more). We’re back for another great year on the field at the Saanich Fairground starting this Saturday! Lots of fresh juicy local strawberries and other farm fresh veg, local farm-raised meats, wineries, tasty preservers, artisan crafts, fresh-baked breads and yummy baked goods. Chick Wagon Band kicks off the season with country rhythms. Enter our weekly Market Buck$ contest and you could win $50 in Market Buck$ top spend at the market. This year’s market opens June 2 in Pioneer Park, part of the Brentwood Bay Festival organized by the Brentwood Bay Community Association. We’re back at our regular location at the Saanich Fairground on June 9. New for this year! “Yoga at the Market” and the “Power of Produce” program for kids. We’ve posted the 2018 vendor application form on our vendor page along with applications for community non-profit groups and community businesses. See you on the field this summer!

Beef up your thanksgiving weekend by winning the last $50 Market Buck$ contest of the year. Lots of great vendors to flavour your holiday weekend – start with wines from DeVine Vineyard or Dragonfly Hill Vineyard, move on to main courses complimented by Yellow Point Cranberries, lots of fresh local veg pies, lamb from Olde Country Registered Sheep, beef from Boughneath Farm, or goodies from the sea from Captain Pete, then finish off with a pie from Pure Pleasures, or ice cream topped with Silver Rill Berry Farm’s awesome black currant sauce.  The market is on rain (RCMP Barn) or shine (market field) – pray for sun!  Thanks for supporting the market and our vendors and we look forward to seeing you next year!

It’s the penultimate market of the season! Jeff Stevenson is on stage to help you enjoy a country morning among friends! Yellow Point Cranberries is back again this week with fresh cranberries for your Thanksgiving dinner, along with our usual array of farm, food and craft vendors. We also hope to see Captain Pete this week, back from fishing up north.

It’s a special day at the Peninsula Country Market this Saturday. 4-H British Columbia is partnering with the Peninsula Country Market to celebrate 4-H and Canada 150. 4-H welcomes the Honourable Judith Guichon, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia. Her Honour is helping 4-H BC celebrate Canada 150 while receiving a Lifetime Honourary 4-H Membership. This is a family friendly event with a bouncy castle, free popcorn and cotton candy, and 4-H member projects. There also may be an appearance by the mascot Frisco the Fox! The special event will run from 9am-1pm (regular market hours) with Her Honour arriving at 11am. Following the presentation there will be a cake giveaway to the public. Come out and support our market vendors too – Yellow Point Cranberries will be at the market with fresh Vancouver Island cranberries for your festive dinners! Music by Lucille Drive. The market is on rain or shine and has the option of setting up in the RCMP Barn (on the west side to the Main Hall) in the event of rain.

Come on out this weekend and enjoy bluesman Bill Johnson on stage, along with our usual assortment of farm, food and craft vendors. Remember that the market is on rain or shine, and continues through to the Thanksgiving weekend.  Starting this Saturday, the market has the option of setting up in the RCMP Barn (on the west side to the Main Hall) in the event of rain.  Special note: The following market (September 23) is special celebration of our local 4H clubs. Lots of family fun and a bouncy castle too! We will have a special visitor that day to help recognize 4H – the Honourable Judith Guichon, the Lieutenant Governor of BC!
