Peninsula Country Market Society

  1. "Local", in the regulations below, is defined as "Vancouver Island and the adjoining Gulf Islands”. Note new boundary.
  2. All crafts must be produced locally from original materials.  No assembled items, kits, or resale items are permitted.
  3. All agricultural or related products must be produced locally. ( In some cases with manager approval and with the condition that it does not conflict with other vendors, BC ‘off-island’ products can be sold, for example Okanagan Cherries as long as they are visibly labeled as to their source and there are no signifigant farmer complaints)
  4. Stall holders selling crafts are generally restricted to booking half of the market.  Exceptions are made if space permits.
  5. The Peninsula Country Market reserves the right to regulate the type and nature of produce or crafts offered for sale and the display of those products.
  6. It is the responsibility of food vendors to follow the Capital Health Region Health Regulations.  A copy of the required approval forms and/or permits must be available for inspection each market day.
  7. Food vendors must register their products for sale with the Market Manager according to the food vendor registration form and rules.
  8. The Peninsula Country Market reserves the right to deny space to any vendor not complying with these regulations, and to close any vendor who is found in violation of these regulations during the market.
  9. The Peninsula Country Market will have liability insurance to cover the hours of the Market, however will not accept responsibility for the negligence of individual stall holders.  Every stall holder is asked to ensure that their home owner, business, or other insurance policy covers them for participation in the Market.
  10. For reasons of safety, stall holders' vehicles should not be moved during the Market hours.  Please limit parking on site to one vehicle.  Extra vehicles should be parked in the parking lot.
  11. Stall holders are responsible for keeping their areas tidy and for removing any litter left in their area after the Market.
  12. The Market is open to the public from 9:00am to 1:00pm.  Please do not arrive too early i.e. before 7:30, but do arrive in time to be set up by 8:45am and do not leave before 1:00pm this is mandatory.  Stall holders arriving after 8:30am on Market day may find their space has been reassigned.
  13. Vendors who have booked in advance must confirm their participation by noon of the Wednesday before the Market. Leave a message at 216-0521, or advise the Manager at the previous Market.
  14. New Fees for 2009: Annual Membership $25.00 ($10 or which goes to advertising). Standard stall fee $25.00 first space; $15 for the second.
  15. Fees are payable by 10:00am on Market Day.
